The Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society reserves the right
to refuse adoptions to anyone.

  • No animal will be adopted to persons having a history of losing, giving away, selling, breeding, or having animals injured or killed by moving vehicles.
  • No animal will be adopted to prospective owners who mislead or fail to provide accurate information.
  • You must be at least 18 years old or older.
  • You must present valid identification showing present physical address.
  • You must be willing to provide medical treatment and proper care for the animal you plan to adopt.
  • You must provide the Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society with an appointment date for spaying / neutering any animal adopted that has not already been altered. An appointment must be made before the animal goes home with you.
  • You must have a rabies tag on a collar on the animal within 5 working days.

Adoption Fee

All animals - $50
(effective June 15, 2005)
This fee includes a vaccination, worming,
bordetella treatment, and spaying / neutering of pet.
